Earthworks Engineering runs after-hours and overnight GPR scanning across the Inland Empire so that never has to happen. We scan the slab after close, mark rebar, post-tension cables, and embedded conduit directly on the concrete, and clear out before the doors reopen.

Our shop is in Rancho Cucamonga, central to the Inland Empire, and we schedule night crews around whatever access window your facility can actually release — evening, graveyard, weekend, or holiday. A Daytime Scan Costs More Than the Scan

On an occupied slab, the scan itself is rarely the expensive part. The expensive part is everything that has to stop around it — a retail floor roped off during trading hours, a distribution aisle pulled out of the pick path, a hospital corridor closed, a classroom relocated. Facility managers price that disruption in lost revenue and lost throughput, and it dwarfs a few hours of scanning.

Moving the scan to a night or weekend window removes that cost entirely. The building operates normally all day, we work the slab while it is empty, and the layout is already marked on the concrete when the next crew arrives. What Every Night Scan Includes

Dual-frequency GPR imaging (900 MHz and 1600 MHz antennas typical), real-time surface marking in paint or crayon so the first-shift crew has the layout waiting on the concrete, and a written scan report with photos and marked-up plans emailed within 24 hours. Every scan is run by a certified operator, insured and bonded.

We plan night work around access, not just the clock — badging, escort requirements, elevator and dock access, noise limits, and dust and slurry containment in finished spaces. Tell us the window your facility can release the area and we build the crew and the scope around it. If the job needs cutting or coring too, we can scan, mark, and cut in the same shift so you only give up one window.

Do you do GPR scanning after hours? +

Yes. After-hours, overnight, weekend, and holiday GPR scanning is a standard service for us, not an exception. We regularly scan between 6pm and 6am so occupied buildings can stay open and fully operational during business hours.

Can you scan concrete overnight while the building is occupied during the day? +

That is the most common reason clients call us at night. Retail floors, warehouses, hospitals, grocery stores, and schools cannot shut down for a daytime scan. We scan and mark the slab after close, and your crew cuts or cores on the next shift with the layout already on the floor.

Do you charge more for night shift or weekend GPR scanning? +

Night and weekend work carries a shift differential over our standard $300 per hour rate with a 4-hour minimum. In most cases the differential is far less than the cost of shutting a facility down during revenue hours. We quote the all-in number before we mobilize, with no surprise charges.

How late can you start a scan? +

We schedule night crews around your access window, including graveyard starts after 11pm. Give us the window your facility can release the area and we build the crew around it.

Do you work weekends and holidays? +

Yes. Saturday, Sunday, and holiday scanning is available across the Inland Empire. Weekend shutdown windows are often the only time tenant improvement work can touch an active slab, so we plan around them regularly.

Can you scan and core in the same night? +

Yes, and it is usually the better plan. Because we run GPR scanning, core drilling, flat sawing, and demolition in house, one crew can scan, mark, and cut in a single night shift. That avoids a second mobilization and a second shutdown window.

How fast can you respond to an emergency night call? +

Our shop is in Rancho Cucamonga, central to the Inland Empire. Typical response is within 4 hours, and we take same-night emergency calls when a crew is already cutting and hits something unexpected.

Is the scan report available before the morning shift? +

Surface markings go down in real time during the scan, so your first-shift crew has the layout on the concrete when they walk in. The written report with photos and marked-up plans follows within 24 hours.

Do you carry the insurance and badging occupied facilities require? +

Yes. We carry full commercial general liability and workers' compensation, and we are set up for facility badging, escort requirements, and after-hours access protocols.
