First, we review the drawing or field layout and confirm what the opening must accomplish. We verify diameter, target location, drilling orientation, access, and the need for a scan. Where conditions call for it, GPR scanning identifies observable embedded features so the team can review the coring location before the bit starts. The rig is then secured and aligned for the required opening rather than freehanded through a structural surface.

Water is commonly used to cool the diamond bit and manage cutting dust, but it must be controlled. In an occupied warehouse, that may mean containment, vacuum recovery, floor protection, and a defined cleanup path. Core plugs and slurry are handled as part of the work area, not left for another trade. When dry or more tightly managed conditions are necessary, we coordinate the appropriate dust-control approach before mobilizing.
